Leeds Jazz 25th Anniversary Season
LEEDS JAZZ, having just celebrated its 25 Anniversary, continues with
what will be its final 5 concerts in November. Please support Leeds
Jazz and enjoy these events while you can. All concerts take place at

Mojo and Jazzwise. Trio VD are about to take their place in a new UK
jazz scene alongside Polar Bear (appearing at Howard Assembly Room on

"...A truly mesmerising band, go and see them as soon as you can."
Jazzwise
"The terrific Leeds-based Trio VD followed up with an equally
ferocious display, this time a fast, tight and awesomely expert
conjunction of spiky high-energy compositions, uninhibited sax and
guitar improv and machine-gun drumming" John Fordham - London Jazz
Festival Review
"...earth-shattering, taking a sledgehammer to preconceived
limitations of jazz..." - Mike Flynn TIME OUT (LONDON)
SUN 15 NOV JOEL HARRISON QUINTET 8.30 pm Tickets 12/10
Joel Harrison - guitar, Rick Margitza - saxophone, Stephan Crump -
bass, Jordan Person - drums, Chris Howes - violin
A firm favourite with Leeds Jazz, Joel Harrison doesn't recognise
artificial boundaries between musical genres and his career has gone
from the 'Free Country' of the album of that name which featured
vocals by among others Norah Jones and Jen Chapin to the music of his
namesake, George Harrison on 'Harrison on Harrison' and now to the
music of his new CD Urban Myths which takes the electric jazz of
Herbie Hanthingy, Miles, Weather Report, Zappa and others as its
starting point.
' Whether his playground is jazz, pop, folk, country, or classical it
all comes down to this: imagination without limits.' Jazzthing, Germany
